University-Enterprise Collaboration Drives InnovationDean Xiang Shengchang of Fujian Normal University Visits Hatro for Inspection and Exchange

To deepen industry-university-research collaborative innovation, advance the development of the semiconductor industry innovation consortium, and bridge the gap between university scientific research achievements and industrial application, on August 18, 2026, a team led by Dean Xiang Shengchang from the College of Chemistry and Materials Science of Fujian Normal University, together with Vice President Ma of the Xiamen Optoelectronic Semiconductor Industry Association, visited Xiamen Hatro Electronics Co., Ltd. (Hatro) for on-site inspection and technical seminars, exploring new cooperation opportunities in the fields of new materials and semiconductor packaging and testing.一.jpg

The company's management and technical team extended a warm welcome to the visiting guests. They accompanied the delegation on a tour of the production workshops, intelligent production lines and testing laboratories, where they observed the full production process of high-precision semiconductor packaging and testing consumables, learned about the raw material modification, molding process, quality control and application of core carrier tape products, and held on-site exchanges on the technical challenges of polymer functional materials and conductive composite materials in packaging and testing scenarios.二.jpgDuring the symposium, the company introduced its development status, technical R&D layout and key industrial research directions to the guests. Dean Xiang Shengchang shared the college's research strengths, laboratory platforms and talent reserves in fields such as porous functional materials and polymer composite materials. Vice President Ma, from the perspective of industry ecosystem, interpreted the construction concept of the local optoelectronic semiconductor innovation consortium, proposing to take enterprises as industrial carriers, universities as research engines, and industry associations as bridges to integrate innovation resources across the industrial chain and promote collaborative research and achievement commercialization.三.jpgDuring the exchange, Mr. Zhou, the company's chairman, described the value of industry-university-research collaboration with a vivid metaphor: "You move forward by illuminating the path ahead with searchlights, while we wade across the river by feeling for stones. When we combine forces, we will move forward much faster." Speaking of the core focus of cooperation, he noted, "'Scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation' — these eight words have struck a deep chord in my heart, and I will always remember them." All parties agreed that the high-quality development of the semiconductor packaging and testing consumables industry cannot be achieved without the in-depth integration of industry, university, research and application. The industrial practice advantages of enterprises, the cutting-edge research advantages of universities and the resource linkage advantages of industry associations are highly complementary. This exchange focuses on establishing a regular docking mechanism and advancing the construction of the innovation consortium. In the follow-up, both sides will conduct detailed demonstration on specific directions such as material improvement and process iteration of functional substrates for packaging and testing, and explore diversified cooperation paths including research achievement transformation, joint technical research and two-way talent training, to jointly promote the upgrading of the local semiconductor supporting industry.

.四.jpgUp to now, Hatro has established in-depth cooperation with the College of Optoelectronic Engineering of Chongqing University, as well as the team of Academician Hong Minghui from Xiamen University (Academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering). This multi-level industry-university-research layout has laid a solid scientific research foundation for the company's technological innovation and the construction of the innovation consortium. Moving forward, Hatro will continue to adhere to the technology-driven development strategy, actively connect with university research resources and industry platform resources, give full play to its role as an industrial platform, promote the in-depth integration of innovation elements in a pragmatic manner, and contribute to the development of the domestic semiconductor packaging and testing supporting industry.
